Catty. Chatty. And Occasionally Trashy.

Ding dong merrily on high

While we here at Pinkdome do not officially endorse any candidate for governor (yet), we do like Chris Bell. Now that he is officially in the race, I wanted to mention a little thing I didn't include in the posted interview: the Bell campaign is looking for a theme song. There is a very in-depth post on his blog about possible song ideas. Unfortunately (as you can tell by the title of the post), most of the songs I know of that mention bells are Christmas songs. You know, "Christmas Bells are Ringing", "Silver Bells", etc.

On a completely different note entirely (but still pertaining to music), why am I the last to know that John Roberts was Peppermint Patty in a prep-school production of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown"?

Happiness is . . .(fill in the blank)

I'm all for fun campaigns and theme songs and color-coordinated baby-tees for rallys...but c'mon, Chris. Theme songs don't win elections. Much more important a concern would be how to raise the $20 million you're going to need to compete.

very valid point, casey.

happiness is... a Governor with a clue. Does anyone know where we can find one? Does that door"bell" work?

See if he changes any positions during his campaign...then the theme could be" For whom the Bell polled".

Dos Centavosforu at July 29, 2005 5:18 PM

I don't know - the right song might be the determining factor...

Don't I remember a song from Jr. High that went something like, "I Got Big Bells?"

:)

PinkReader at July 29, 2005 5:41 PM

Hell's Bells by AC/DC.

Yabl Blobna at July 29, 2005 8:38 PM

Dos - For Whom the Bell Polled. Priceless! (Personally can't say if it's fair or not, but nevertheless, gd funny!)

I second Hells Bells by AC/DC. It'll send the evangelicals scrambling for cover. It's worked wonders as the theme song for Trevor Hoffman, one of the best closers in baseball history.

trza at July 30, 2005 1:25 AM

Casey's right. For Bell to spend time on a search for and discussion of a campaign theme song no one will ever hear because he only has 10K is absurd. He is now officially the fringe candidate in this race. "Leslie" from Sixth and Congress anyone?

chance foreboding highwaymen bastes confidentially mythical?
