The Vietnam Veterans of America will award Senator Leticia Van de Putte
their coveted "Legislator of the Year" award tomorrow in the Texas Capitol.
The honor, the organization's most prestigious, is awarded based on the
proven legislative track record of the official receiving it.
Van de Putte was reportedly thrilled with the honor and climbed on the podium in the Senate to shout, "I'm king of the world!"
It's a "lectern," Casey . . . not a "lecturn."
How about it's a who gives a shit, you know what I meant?
Did the lectern/podium collapse when Van De Putte got on top of it?
Well that was certainly an unkind thing to say. Thank goodness you're so perfect.
Edmonton dominated the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night and the 4-0 margin in Game 6 makes it hard to imagine the Oilers not hoisting hockey's Holy Grail above their heads in less than 48 hours. And it would not come as any shock to see defenseman Chris Pronger, who had another 31-minute night, take the honors for the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP.
it's a lecturn, dear...not a podium.
