Administrative Assistant

Organization: The Texas Affiliate of NARAL Pro-Choice America is a statewide nonprofit advocacy organization that uses the political process to guarantee access to reproductive healthcare for all women, including contraception, pre and post-natal care, age-appropriate comprehensive sexuality education, and safe, legal abortion. The Affiliate consists of three nonprofit organizations: NARAL Pro-Choice Texas, a 501(c)4, and NARAL Pro-Choice Texas Foundation, a 501(c)3; and TARAL PAC.

Summary: NARAL Pro-Choice Texas is looking for someone experienced, dedicated, and pro-choice to fill the position of Administrative Assistant.

Responsibilities:

* Coordinate incoming email and phone calls for the organization.
* Manage membership database.
* Maintain website and computers.
* Coordinate donor and on-line member communication.
* Assist with planning and implementation of fundraising events.
* Assist with Board meetings and Board communication.
* Coordinate direct mail projects.
* Process incoming accounts payable and payroll taxes.
* Assist Executive Director as needed.

Qualifications:

* Self-starter with strong attention to detail.
* Ability to prioritize and handle a variety of projects simultaneously.

* Computer literacy required; knowledge of Donor Perfect Online a plus.
* Knowledge of and strong commitment to pro-choice and reproductive rights issues.

* Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
* Works well in a team environment; sense of humor welcomed!

Details:
This part-time (25 hours per week) position starts August 1, 2005 with the possibility of becoming full-time in the future.
