NARAL Pro-Choice Texas, a state affiliate of NARAL Pro-Choice America, is seeking a dynamic leader to head the organizationâ??s efforts to promote reproductive freedom across the state. The organizations include a 501 (c) 4; NARAL Pro-Choice Texas Foundation (a 501 (c) 3); and a Political Action Committee.
NARAL Pro-Choice Texas' mission is to recruit, develop, and sustain a constituency that uses the political process to promote public health policies that guarantee every woman access to the full range of reproductive healthcare. This includes responsible sexuality education, short and long term contraceptive methods, adequate pre-and post-natal care, and legal abortion.
The Executive Director takes responsibility for implementing the organizationâ??s vision, fundraising, coordinating our grassroots reproductive rights action program, as well as managing day-to-day activities.
The ideal candidate would possess:
* A strong commitment to the pro-choice movement
* Fundraising experience such as high-dollar donor cultivation, direct mail solicitations, membership renewals, event management and grant writing
* Ability to manage the finances of an organization, including budgeting and payroll
* Excellent time management skills, the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines, the desire and flexibility to work the hours needed to get the job done
* Ability to represent the organization with excellent communications skills
* Political savvy and experience that demonstrates the ability to build and maintain coalitions
* Strategic thinking skills as well as the ability to follow through on ideas
* Familiarity with Texas politics is desired
* Experience working with non-profit boards is desired
