Sylvester, Sylvester...we know that our honorable legislators file bills all the time that they've never read, but you shouldn't just come out and say it out loud. The campaign finance bill you filed made our right eye pop out of the socket for a minute.

The sponsor, Speaker Pro Tem Sylvester Turner, D-Houston, said the measure, which he didn't write, is more far-reaching than he intended and said he will scale it back to cover only minor violations of campaign-reporting requirements.
