We were flirting with other bloggers all day at the SXSW Interactive Trade Show Days so we have not been paying attention to HB 3 today. What'd we miss? (Comments are open) Liveblogging until 7 p.m., then comments take over.
We're listening to the livestream now and we'll add our two cents in the expanded entry if something comes up, but feel free to post in the comments section anything you find interesting. We are going to get ready for a fundraiser thing tonight, so we'll be back and forth.
Senfronia is not having Chisum. She marched down from the back mike to tell him to take that down...and he did. What a wuss he is. Course I wouldn't mess with her either. :)
6:12 Chisum talks about 'honest and truthful' regarding car dealers. He seems to me to be the spokesman for honest and truthful, don'tchathink?
6:16 Rep. Picket says he knows everybody is tired but he wishes they'd listen to him. Awww, isn't that sweet? We'd call it whining, but what do we know? SURPRISE--Amendment Tabled.
6:23 Mr. Garron says he reads the newspaper online. He also asks hilarious questions about going to the laundry. They are bitchy today. Hate I'm missing it!
Next up Rep. Goolsby is up. He promises not to shout. Good for him.
Re. Coleman attacks next with the car rental tax issue. Oh..but at least he talks about rodeos. We love the rodeo!
6:31 Frank Corte is back at the mike. He yields just as Craddick announces they brought food in. Who brought food in? The car wash lobby?? But back to Corte's tie. WTF? Can you see it? It's one of these stupid theme ties. Oh, and don't think we don't notice Rep. Wong in the background back there. We see you.
Rep. Harper Brown is trying to make a point that Corte just will not listen to. I love it when people put facts and other people just say...oh that's disputed.
Wish we knew what party these people belong to, but right now we are so confused we don't know whether to scratch our ass or wind our ass.
The play of the day was Patrick Rose's success at expanding this new tax scheme to the only industry that was exempted by HB3 - the insurance industry.
Not every Democrat could have got up and passed that...
