(You know, 'in the ring' and all)
House District 16 (man, everybody's counting on Hope getting an appointment) from the HCN:
...attorney Brandon Creighton announced his intention Tuesday to file for the District 16 House of Representatives seat currently held by Ruben Hope, if Gov. Rick Perry appoints Hope to a judicial post.
Also tossing the hat, so to speak: (this time from the Quorum Report)
Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison has opened her campaign 2006 campaign headquarters in Austin. The campaign manager is Terry Sullivan who spearheaded the effort to elect South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint. DeMint had both a bruising primary followed by a tough general election.
KBH wants to open a campaign office. For what? She's got no room to run against Perry in the primary, no real issue to run against him on in a Republican primary.
She's got ambition, a bond lawyer for a husband who ran his own race for Governor and lost. Oh, and she's stalled out in her Senate career, hardly a reason to run.
