Dynasty! Dallas! The Drama Series Returns!

We heard about the meeting last night in Dallas, too. Click here to listen to the theme song as your read the entry: Download file

The Dallas County meeting started with chaos last night as the dissenters showed up with their own people to credential people to enter the meeting and the DPD had to show up before the meeting even began.

The fact that these dissenters refused to let their newly elected sheriff speak was also amazing.

Wow, but I'm sure Susan Hays conducted herself with the dignity and leadership she's shown to effectively elect dems in Dallas County thoughout the election cycle. Everybody else ought to shut up or raise a million dollars and buy their own Democratic Party.

"I'm sure Susan Hays conducted herself with the dignity" - that was anything but the truth of what happened. Chair Hays did her best to ignore the petitioners and engaged in continual stalling tactics in order to prevent the meeting from conducting business. It was an utter disgrace. I am surprised that you are defending chair Hays, especially considering that you (to my knowledge) did not attend the meeting.

Well, we know the 'petitioners' and have the strong opinion they are wrong in the matter of Susan. The email address thing: Some guy wants the list to spam dems every day with his conspiracy theories. The letter thing: Hays is not the first or only Dem to endorse a Republican on letterhead (we've got a copy of another exact letter from another top Dem), The elected officials support Susan, we saw her in San Antonio working like mad for Judge Spector so we're in her corner. We also called her and a couple of other Dallas Dems to get the scoop.

"...dissenters showed up with their own people to credential people to enter the meeting"... -Neither list was 100% accurate. But at least the Reform Group's list didn't have a dead precinct chair on it.

"...the DPD had to show up before the meeting even began..." - Yes, wasn't that interesting? The Party Staff called the police before even entering the building when there were only 4 individuals in the lobby (including a CWA rep.). Local AFL-CIO officials (Owners of the building)want to question why a false police report was filed?

"...shut up or raise a million dollars... " - Wow! So that's the new Democratic Party? Money over grassroots activism?

"...Hays is not the first or only Dem to endorse a Republican on letterhead..." -
Chair Hays represented herself not as individual, Susan Hays, but as the Dallas County Democratic Party. Please look up the Congressional Record. What's done is done, but Democrats would like the Congressional Record amended to remove "Endorsement by Dallas County Democratic Party" with "Endorsement by Susan Hays"

Money trumps everything. Ask Donald Trump...or ask any winner for that matter. Idealism is great, grassroots activism is great but bullshit party politics is so 1988.
