Dear Mr. President

president-obamDear President Obama,
Please quit saying you are frustrated with Congress or any elected official or function of the government. It sounds incredibly weak. I’m confident Teddy Roosevelt never said he was frustrated with Congress!

As a leader, we want to see decisive action, we want to see you stand up to bullying from Congress.

You are the President of the United States of America…have you forgotten that? Shut down the entire country if you have to get their attention and remind them who is the Executive Leader of this mess we call a country!

I’m so frustrated with you! I can say that because I’m just the CEO of a small business suffering through this economy, not the elected leader of a country. Stand up, put your fist on the bully pulpit and say, “This stops. If you won’t stop it, I will.”

I long for your to act strongly and decisively. I am reminded of my favorite line from a stupid movie.

People want leadership, Mr. President, and in the absence of genuine leadership, they’ll listen to anyone who steps up to the microphone. They want leadership. They’re so thirsty for it they’ll crawl through the desert toward a mirage, and when they discover there’s no water, they’ll drink the sand.

I’m desperate for you to stand up and be firm!

Give ‘em hell, Mr. President! PLEASE!

Regards,

  1. Lord Bedlam says:

Sadly, the Obama Presidency took the naive approach to politicking. Since the extension of the Bush tax cuts, the GOP startups in the House (otherwise known as Tea Party) accepted the then Obama olive branch and began on a path towards national insolvency.

I will say that his nation-wide tour, touting the jobs act, is the last card he has left to play. He cannot afford to extend any more olive branches to congress, which may mean seeing the GOP game of chicken to the end before ultimately, the other side caves. Unfortunately, it may also lead the nation towards temporary insolvency status, but the alternative is to employ policies that will surely maintain record high unemployment that will ultimately surpass levels once set during the great depression.
