Congress: Like tantrum throwing children, but worse
The constant barrage from the 24 hour news channels on the imminent default of the U.S. Treasury is enough to drive even a booze hound to scrounge the medicine cabinet for the rubbing alcohol (apologies to Mrs. Dukakis). I keep thinking, as a politically astute person, that there is a lot of grandstanding but deals are being negotiated. And then I read that the FAA may shut down Friday at midnight because Congress can’t agree on some union language.
The up side is that I have several plane tickets to buy and since the government can’t collect taxes while the FAA is shut down I will have some bargains on my upcoming travel. The down side is that this is ridiculous!
The election of stupid people has finally made its presence well known. The petulant democrats and republicans bicker back and forth and demonize each other while Rome burns. They would seriously rather see the U.S. enter chaos and riots in the street than work together so in the next election they could point at each other and talk about how the other ruined the country.
Meanwhile, we are driving towards a cliff with the brake lines cut.
