Texas Executes Child Rapist and Murder, Liberals Aghast!

There was some kerfluffle over the planned execution of Humberto Garcia, a Mexican National, this week. Even the White House got involved claiming that it could hinder future efforts for fair treatment of Americans in trouble in foreign countries. My response? Who cares? Don’t break the law here or there or anywhere and you don’t have to worry about such things. I’ve traveled around the world and I’ve never raped or murdered the citizen of a foreign country.

The media and the White House were hanging their hats on this:

A U.N.-backed tribunal court ruled in 2004 that Garcia was one of dozens of Mexican nationals sentenced to death by U.S. courts who had been denied their right to legal help from the Mexican consulate. The U.S. is party to a U.N. treaty granting the right of consular assistance to all foreigners charged with a crime.

Ok, I’m with you there. Maybe there wasn’t help in legal form from the Mexican Consulate. BUT, I believe in the American Justice system (mostly, OJ and that Casey Anthony mother probably excluded). And, if under a fair trial the man was convicted of raping and murdering a 16 year old girl that my only question is why did it take 17 years to execute him!

Two things really burn my ass about this. First, I find myself supporting Gov. Perry in letting the execution go through and Second, our legal system has got to do a better job of executing criminals in less than 17 years. That’s an awful lot of expense and time to waste on murderers.
