What the “Rapture” craze really did…
The ridiculous campaign to raise awareness of the “Rapture” when any real Christian would tell you is impossible to predict did accomplish a very important goal. It got us talking about God, Heaven and the things God wants us to talk about. He wants us to be kind to our fellow man, to forgive, to focus on His grace. While everyone was joking about the end of the world, people were doing a little self-analysis and that is a good thing.
It’s a sad thing that so many gave up their life savings and quit their jobs because they think life is so bad here they can’t wait to be in Heaven. I don’t think those kind of people will be in Heaven anyway. Heaven is a safe haven or paradise for losers that are miserable and didn’t make the most of their lives. Heaven is for people that are to be rewarded for their time on earth, not escaping it.
Heaven is seeking believers that are living His example here on earth. Not ones that are driving around in RV’s saying “Get me out of here!”
