McChrystal: Opens Mouth and Removes All Doubt
General McChrystal should be fired. There is really one last bastion of respect for the chain of command and punishment for insubordination in this world, and that is the military. It isn’t a lot of grey area. Right, wrong and respect. That’s what makes a military work like a well oiled machine. McChrystal’s arrogance and contempt for those in charge is disgusting.
President Obama really must fire him. If he does not he’ll further his damaged reputation among the military. He’ll be seen as weak and able to be bullied.
War is not popular, never will be. But respect for the chain of command and a little less time trying to be a rock star general and a little more time making progress towards a withdrawal should be top of mind.
