South Carolinians are just plain stupid

It pains me to write that headline. As a Charlestonian, we delude ourselves by saying that Charleston is different than anywhere else in South Carolina. In a way, it is. It’s the one place where there is still money and Southern Aristocracy and that whole southern gothic thing we southerners thrive on.

The rest of the state is filled with backwoods hillbilly toothless ignorant folks. We like to be nice and call them “Salt of the Earth” and hardworking. But, let’s face it…generations of poverty and hideously shameful public education have created an uneducated mouth-breathing mass of people across this whole country…not just in South Carolina. South Carolina just happens to show some distinct pride in their commitment to ignorance.

The Democrats in SC voted for a man that was kicked out of the army, charged with showing porn to a young girl and didn’t spend a dime campaigning.

So, the Democratic Party of SC Leadership ought to be removed and replaced immediately. What kind of political party doesn’t vet their candidates? Idiots.  His opponent in the primary, Vic Rawl, deserves to lose. If you can’t hire competent campaign staff to do even a modicum of opposition research on this treasure trove of screw ups, then you deserve to lose to him.

After we blame those people appropriately, then let’s save a little of our righteous indignation for the voters of South Carolina. Now… I’ve voted in SC before. The ballot for Democrats is not very long. A lot of races don’t even bother to have a Dem candidate at all. That means there aren’t a lot of Dems you have to know about to go vote for in the first place. So checking the box for the first name on the ballot is a sign that perhaps we should start to rescind the voting rights of people and creating a poll tax of sorts in SC.

It’s funny to me that NOW the Democratic Party in SC is all up in arms about this and want him to withdraw. Nope, you’re stuck with him now. If you’d done your job in the first place this never would have happened.

Oh SC, My SC…why must you make it so easy for everyone to laugh. I will hold on to my strong faith that Charleston is the only worthy place in a state filled with aggressive ignorance that is so pervasive throughout the rest of this stupid country.

I call them dimocrats for these very reasons. Of course, Joe Barton, Sarah Palin, and Linda Harper-Brown is turning me into to a brown bag republican.
