What are we going to do about Mexico?
The first headline I read this morning was At least 12 bodies found along remote Mexican highway
Really?
The discovery follows coordinated attacks in at least eight cities in Michoacan that killed three federal police officers and two soldiers Saturday in what officials called an unprecedented onslaught by drug gangs.
So, I’m wondering how this is ok? All of these “threats to national security” in countries that couldn’t reach the U.S. in a rowboat are getting gobs of attention from us, but a country that leaks into ours like a sieve is all but ignored. In Texas, we see the spillover of this violence in our border towns and all throughout the state as the drug traficking corridor does robust business.
Is it just me or does it seem gang violence is on the rise in Austin, Texas at the same time budget cuts mean no pay raises for police and no new recruits? Sorry, off topic…well, not off topic but a digression.
What I would like to see is a country that can police itself and not one that is run by thugs or we should send our military over to get the country back in order. I mean, it’s like having an awful neighbor that you can’t just make move so you have to call the police every weekend and file complaints and be an asshole. It’s exhausting. People are getting killed, authority is a joke and the
citizenry is suffering in abject poverty. It’s about time someone say so and then do something unpopular.
Get me that wet dish towel, Obama, on the phone. I’ve got something to say.

You forgot to mention that the rowdy neighbors are your drug pushers, partying with your proceeds. If you’re looking at re-evaluating the wars we’re in, we should also take a deep look at the one that Nixon started.
