The best is “yet to come”

Arizona State University did not give President Obama an ‘honory degree’ when he spoke at their commencement, saying that his “body of work is yet to come.” Sure, I get that…being elected President of the United States of America is just an ordinary accomplishment in one’s life and not anything to be so proud of anyway. It would certainly fall below “commencement speaker at Arizona State University the University of Arizona” on my resume.

Looking at their list of honorary degree recipients, I see their point. After all, how could the President of the United States match the stature of Kim Campbell, Canada’s former prime minister and the first woman prime minister of that country. (Oops)

[Ed. note: A commenter noticed I mixed up and wrote University of Arizona once in this post. Something that happens when bloggers don't have editors, but I love how upset it made the commenter. Here's something else to piss him off. It's Arizona, nobody really cares.]

University of Arizona? It was ASU… not U of A. Get your facts straight. There are also many more important things in life than an honorary degree. I was a Masters graduate on the field last night. I must admit I may not understand exactly why we didn’t award him one, but it’s not worth crying about…especially with his law credentials.
