Tonight’s welcome reception was hosted by the Washington Post and Slate.com for us. Stephen Hill, the president and GM of WaPo made a few remarks welcoming us to D.C. for the big event tomorrow night.
David Edelstein of Slate.com gave us a quick review of how the White House Corresspondents Association Dinner grew to be such a glitz event and told us the Clinton had no sense of humor and Bush thought of the dinner as a big fraternity house party.
We will attend a brunch tomorrow hosted by Slate.com and Newsweek. The tomorrow event for brunch is An In-Depth Look at the First 100 Days of the Obama administration, featuring The Washington Post Associate Editor, David Ignatius and Slate’s Chief Political Correspondent, John Dickerson
