The House Human Services Committee will meet at 10:30 a.m. in E2.016 to look at how the state handled last year’s child-welfare operation at a West Texas ranch owned by a polygamist sect.
Ah yes, there will be plenty of finger-pointing, claims of violation of religious freedoms and over-zealous law enforcement authorities. I’m hoping there will also be a serious look at the overburdened state child welfare system and overburdened workers that had to all have major freak outs trying to place these children and make sure they were all safe when this clusterf*&k happened. But, that will probably be hoping for too much. I mean, you’ve been to a Human Services Committee meeting haven’t you? Talk about devolving!
You know, that whole thing really was a mess. It turned out to be a humiliation for everyone involved. Including those ladies in those God-Awful dresses and horrid hair styles. I mean, those two things alone would have me busting in those gates with a team of stylists for a state mandated makeover.
I’m all for religious freedoms and such but the sexing of the young teenage girls is wrong I don’t care what religion you are.
