New session, Same shit
The “needle-exchange” bill is up again. Back in 2005 we picked Delisi out of the pack for her opposition to needle exchange programs, just as we were shocked that Houston Senator 
John Lindsay was the one to introduce the common sense measure.
Well, since clearly the legislature cannot learn anything from history they are doomed to repeat it. The measure passed the Senate this week and goes to the House and then to be vetoed by Perry as soon as it lands on his desk.
We think needle exchanges are a necessity…we don’t love the idea of passing out free needles to junkies anymore than Perry does. But, we realize the reality is disease is spread by the use of dirty needles. Clean needles will reduce the spread of disease and consequently reduce the burden on the health care system that we then pay for with tax dollars. I like to think of this as a fiscally responsible and conservative approach to reducing health care spending!
Ugh..Perry is still the same dumbass he was in 2005. How have y’all lived with him for this long.
