The head of the federal agency investigating Karl Rove’s White House political operation is facing allegations that he improperly deleted computer files during another probe, using a private computer-help company, Geeks on Call.(WSJ)
Seriously, if you are trying to cover stuff up you probably shouldn’t call tech support.
Consider this a how-to tip for all you governor’s office staffers that are not allowed to delete your emails these days.
Make friends with a computer programmer. (This may take a LOT of effort as they are usually not very engaging or dynamic people). Win their trust and get them involved in whatever activity you are trying to cover up. Impress upon them the importance of not getting caught. Their ability to erase evidence will be for their own benefit as well as yours. Since they have a vested interest in staying out of jail, they will keep their damn mouth shut and train you on how to keep evidence from remaining on your hard drive.
