Apparently, the Ciro Rodriguez/Henry Cuellar match-up is a great draw to the extremely geriatric community. 93 Democrats over the age of 90 turned out to early vote. 51 people over the age of 100 cast their ballots.
Rodriguez’s campaign thinks there’s something fishy with that many people over a century old showing up to vote. Colin Strother, Cuellar’s guy, says this is an act of desperation by the Rodriguez camp. I’d say, isn’t using dead people to vote an act of desperation in and of itself?

As an election judge I’ve noticed that some of the voter certificates contain a default birth date of 1/1/1900. Perhaps this is the reason for so many super-geriatric votes. Personally, I don’t believe default birth dates should be allowed, as age is one of the factors used in voter verification.
‘ Cuellar spokesman Colin Strother called the request an act of desperation by Rodriguez, but said the Cuellar campaign welcomed an inspector.
“He’s casting dispersions toward the community, and we don’t appreciate it,” Strother said. “Nothing untoward is going on here.” ‘
If Cuellar goes belly up, maybe Strother could go to work for Madla.
Nothing worng with a dispersion or two. Kinda like the shot in Cheney’s shotgun. Makes one want to duck.
Colin Strother should be run out of this state before he does more damage.
Not to mention Cuellar. This, people, is the same man who won his current seat only *after* the good old boys in zapata *found* a few ten thousand votes they’d misplaced until after Cuellar lost the vote count and Rodriguez won.
“Hey, what’s this/? 35,000 votes?? Holy crap - and hey, hey… 90 percent of them are for Cuellar! What a coincedence, buddy!”
We in the Valley started calling him the By Hook or By Crook Congressman.
