Tim Kaine with the facial expressions, gestures and shrugs is like a bad comedian at some shitty resort in the Catskills.
Let’s call him shecky. I like the message but his body language is terrible.

  8. original TREY on Tuesday 31, 2006

the goddamn sound is off on shecky… anyone else seeing this?

  9. original TREY on Tuesday 31, 2006

Frist looks like a cadaver on split screen with Obama.

  10. Pinkdome on Tuesday 31, 2006

Frist was all up on Bush’s ass as he was walking out. He must REALLY want to be president.

  11. original TREY on Tuesday 31, 2006

Really? Well, apparently he didn’t pick up any color while he was up there.

  12. Pinkdome on Tuesday 31, 2006

HAHA. But seriously, what a pitiful speech.

  13. newswatching on Tuesday 31, 2006

    Good speech from the president.

  14. original TREY on Tuesday 31, 2006

news - yeah, I guess… if we broaded the definition of speech to anyone who stands while speaking semi-coherently. ‘Good’ is an interesting adjective to use. You must have started drinking far earlier than I.
What precisely did you find so good?

  15. newswatching on Tuesday 31, 2006

the optimism (yeah, I liked that, so shoot me), the alternative energy initiative, and the boldness, whether you agree with the plan or not (and I haven’t decided myself), of his statement on the terrorist wiretap program, for starters.

  16. original TREY on Tuesday 31, 2006

    alternative energy? check out

I’d like to welcome our R friends to the party.

  17. original TREY on Tuesday 31, 2006

The wiretap thing is going to be the noose ’round his neck. That was a stupid ass program that wouldn’t have stopped 9/11… communications between agencies would have done that.

  18. the wizard on Tuesday 31, 2006

The wiretap thing is bogus, ’cause he defended the wrong thing. No one complained or cared about the international calls — those have been made through FISA for decades. The requests have gone up — and have never been turned down — since 9/11 and the Patriot Act, but those international taps are all “secret court” approved. What’s more, if it’s an “emergency” you can just start tapping phones, and you have two days to get the court’s approval ex post facto. So if there’s really an emergency and we don’t want to let “terrorists slip away” he can follow the law.
What people didn’t like was the domestic tapping that no one got approval to do.
The domestic stuff is completely different. It’s just hard to get everyone to learn how, especially when he just meshed those together.
