The President Finally Speaks…
December 19, 2005 Uncategorized
And now we can’t get him to shut up. He’s been giving speeches like they’re going out of style this weekend. Last night’s address was a tiny step in the direction I’ve wanted him to go…the one towards being a little bit honest with us. While we don’t believe in his whole, “You with me or against me” mentality and calling people ‘defeatists’ because they don’t agree with the policies, we do agree that now that he’s gotten us into this mess he sure as hell better figure a way to get us out of it. Whether that is through diplomacy or bullets is a tough question.
Also, we’d just like to point out there were a few to many “I” statements in his speech.

Too many “I” statements? Would you rather him NOT take personal responsibility for the Iraq situation? Or perhaps you think he should use the Royal We?
The sooner we all beocme “defeatist,” the better for America. I am sick to death of the scare tactics, the bogus machismo, the secrecy, the arrogance of power, the g-d lies, and the killing. How is this guy still in office? Now, he says he is engaged in illegal surveillance and essentially dares us to stop him. Hasta la vista democracy!
Like it or not, you pansies, he’s keeping our country safe! Haven’t had a terrorist incident on our soil since 9-11, have we?
No, Wonk, we haven’t. I doubt it’s due to the actions of our incompetent President. Incompetent terrorists maybe, but not so much our Administration which is doing a piss poor job of prosecuting the war against the people who attacked us.
Anyone who thinks we’re safer with Bush in the Oval is delusional.
Today was the first day I heard impeachment coming from Washington and it is long overdue.
Impeachment? WTF are you talking about!?
Yes my dear, impeachment.
We do have laws, and no matter how much Rove and Cheney want to do it their way, there are some limits. Breaking the law (ie ordering activities SPECIFICALLY outlawed in our constitution) is an impeachable act. And even though bush thinks “checks and balances” includes his “committment to not violate the law”, they don’t. It’s a little more structured than that. HE DOESN’T GET TO SPY ON US CITIZENS WITHOUT A WARRANT. Got it?
The “pansies” are those cowering behind the imperial idiot-boy for protection from … what? Pansies give up their rights and responsibilities in the vain hope of security. Ben Franklin famously pointed out the moral flaw in this way of thinking. No suicide bomber, no anthrax mailer, no pissant cabal of crypto-fascists can overthrow our open and democractic society without the acquiesence of us free men and women. Any true non-pansy conservative would agree.
What a bunch of snotty bitches.
It must suck to know that know one cares what you think huh?
You tell us, Wonk. We don’t spend all day on an opposition blog posting inane comments.
By the way, we don’t care what you think. However, as a Christian, I do want to wish you Happy Holidays!
Yes! Merrry Christmas asshole!
Hey Wonk - good to see you’re back. Now there’s two of us!
Jerk
Stick around Wonk (and you know who you are), you make life on the blog more exciting. Trey wants everything on here to be one big circle jerk. *yawn* Fuck that bullshit. If all I wanted was agreement with my own opinions, I’d damn well talk to myself. Wish some of the other assholes would do the same.
You calling me a jerk?
Or you calling me a jerk?
Or you calling me a jerk?
Only the shadow knows!
