Suzanna Gratia Hupp, a.k.a. the Softer Side of Sears, has decided to call it quits with the House. Add one more person to the growing list of reps giving up. That sucks, now we have to make fun of someone else in the House with bad fashion sense. Is that even possible?

I am sure we will have soem new tacky ass hick to make fun of…not a doubt in my mind

Why do you people find it necessary to publicly pick on what this woman wears? What is this, a grade school playground? What possible difference could it make to you? Never mind - don’t answer that. If you don’t have anything more important to think and write about, then I strongly advise finding something. Or maybe just developing a more adult sense of humor. Seriously, there are many better and more interesting ways to be witty.

You won’t have Hupp to kick around anymore

State rep. Suzanna Hupp, best known for her views on carrying concealed handguns after the death of her parents in the Luby’s Massacre, is calling it quits. I’m not sure what prompted this, other than being totally fed up with

    Blog Roundup

Kuff: Reublican State Rep. John Davis has a challenger for the first time since 2001. Her name is Sherrie Matula. Sherrie and her family are long time resident of the area (since 1974), long time active Democrats and she is…

^ Get over yourself already. If you don’t like it, move along little doggy, and who the hell are you to scold us about making fun of anyone? You think that woman is nice?? She’d shoot your ass and use a pile of her floral, upholstery like vests to hide your body.

  6. Wonk on Wednesday 31, 2005

Marie I know that woman and her staff. They are good people. You people are nothing but hate spewing ass hats.

  7. Marie on Wednesday 31, 2005

“Hate spewing ass hats?” That’s what we said about her and the Republicans during SB6, HB2, HB3, SB1, HJR6…

I have to admit, I like Rep. Hupp and her staff, too, and with them nothing but the best. More than that, I wish she were staying. She was a hero on consent searches, needle exchange, and a lot of stuff she didn’t have to take on, but did, because she believed in it. That she believes in other things PD commenters may disagree with is immaterial — she’s driven by honorable motives, in my experience.
    Good luck, Rep. Hupp!

It doesn’t matter if she’s good people. She still wears ugly clothes. In case newswatching hasn’t noticed, the good people posting on this site make fun of everyone and everything. Please don’t ask us to grow up. We might turn into the people we ridcule.

You people must have the self esteem of a gnat.

  12. PinkDome on Wednesday 31, 2005

HA! Not me. Suzanna Hupp, come the fuck on people. Did you watch her this past session? I regret her staff will be scrambling for jobs, but the woman has worn out her welcome on her one-issue incumbency.

  13. Wonk on Wednesday 31, 2005

She on more than just gun issues PD. I’m sure it doesn’t matter to you because you would dimiss anything that would come from her just because she’s a republican.

She worked on more than just gun issues PD. I’m sure it doesn’t matter to you because you would dimiss anything that would come from her just because she’s a republican.

  15. PinkDome on Wednesday 31, 2005

Nope, I love me some Republicans. Used to work for them as a matter of fact. Just a note: when in doubt, check out the top of your screen, “Politics written with our tongue planted firmly in our cheek.”

  16. Wonk on Wednesday 31, 2005

Nope with our foot planted straight in our mouth’s. Serioiusly, yall’s slogan ain’t up there anymore.

    It’s Hupp day

Ordinarily, that would just be one of my many typos. But today is special since we are all about Rep. Suzanna Hupp. Not only have I and Pink Dome written about her, uh, illustrious career, so has the Pink Lady.

Oh, these lawmakers, I tell you. Sometimes it’s more than I can bear, the damned variety in their clothing when they neglect to put their uniforms on in the morning. Someone in the Enforcement Division of the Department of Wardrobe Police must SO be falling down on the job. Maybe the enforcement staff was too busy prepping for Camp Casey during the session, but whatever. This blog should probably start a Fashion forum so we can all deal with our emotions on the issue. Then a committee of three of this blog’s loyalists could meet and come up with specs for a new uniform — they are, after all, THE fashion arbiters for all things legislative.

Ass hats? Now YOU’RE making fun of OUR clothes?!?!
I’m sure she’s a decent person who did her job to the best of her ability, but if she doesn’t want anyone to say anything about her politics, her beliefs, and yes, even the clothes she wears, she should probably stay out of the public eye. The best part is, she could probably care less what we think, and doesn’t need anyone to defend her.
