Paging Florence Shapiro, Florence Shapiro Please Pick Up The White Courtesy Phone
Psst, Senator Shapiro we didn’t want to yell this out to everybody that’s why we are calling on the white phone. Listen…we heard today you’re going to bring out SB2 again. We just had a few things to go over with you real quick, ok?
First…you know you usually look great so I hope today you are not wearing that God awful white denim thing again. That’s not going to present you as, you know, a leader.
Next, when you’re up there and Gallegos starts getting on your nerves…don’t yell at him. It makes us cringe when you do that. Limit the eye rolling, too.
Oh and I guess last thing, could you actually defend the bill you’re up there talking about? That’d be great. We all know it’s the same shit, different day but come on…Act for me baby, ACT!
What else y’all got to say about SB2 and its apparent appearance today?

The Senate’s cheer:
Screw the children, screw the schools
Come on, Dewy, make me look cool!
Uhm…isn’t it all moot? You can’t have a new school finance bill without a new tax bill and you can’t have a new tax bill unless the House votes one out and you can’t have the House vote one out when the author/floor sponsor of THE tax bill proclaims “Show me voting no on HB3″ and you can’t have the same bill presented and voted on more than once.
So basically, Flo-Sho, just smile for the camera and maybe even shed a tear for the little children..it may raise you an extra few grand for the campaign…b/c that’s all you got goin on now.
2 cents.
That is all.
That is all.
earth to senate: cut and run. why stick your neck out for a vote you can’t easily explain only to have the bill explode in the house?
QR just put up a theory I’d been talking to Bluebonnet about: that is, the House de-links SB2 from HB3, and the whole can of worms is re-opened. Even if the House puts up Hochberg’s plan again, the Senate won’t concur with the de-linking change, and it will have, HAVE to go to conference, where no moderates and no Dems are in control.
Let it go…and let’s come back and do this right with a bipartisan group, and not the out-of-control leadership.
It’s looking to me like everyone in the House is ill, or on important business in the district … the rest kind of have a vacant day-of-the-living-dead look on their faces. Zombies deciding Texas kids’ future. Business as usual.
