It’s 11:15 p.m. and we’re on HB2’s 13th hour of debate. The members in the House are tired, voices squeaky and hoarse and they have gone through about 90 amendments so far. (I lost track in between glasses of red wine)
Rep. Grusendorf is trying to persuade the members that he’s been right all along and at this late hour he is not very persuasive. Has Grusendorf ever seen a school? He says we have two choices and he wouldn’t yield until he let us know that the choices are: Kill the bill and let the Courts decide how Texas schools are financed or pass his bill. Gross, those choices suck ass. Can we get a third option? Oh, that’s right the Dem plan was defeated already.
